united nations fact one: even in the case that your only opportunity to have lunch is to eat a snack at 3pm while the afternoon session begins, beware of choosing twix, especially if you sit in the front row, and the session starts with low lights, a presentation on the big screen, and everyone religiously silent. when you bite a twix, it cracks and snaps and makes a lot of undesirable noises that, while resounding in the huge meeting room up to the distant ceiling, will make you repent for all your sins.

anyway, the real piece of news is that a sub-group of volunteers from the internet governance caucus met yesterday for a working dinner, to draft a statement to be read in today's wgig consultations. the meeting was so reserved that, while taking our place at the restaurant, we noticed four other caucus members (including one wgig member) sitting at a nearby table.

anyway, the real challenge for me wass that we only started drafting when we were pouring the third bottle of wine (actually, the wine was quite bad - according to a distinguished professor from the united states, that was all fault of another distinguished professor from the united states).

in all cases, i must take responsibility for the outcome of the drafting session... and yes, i do remember drafting the text. partly.
